SGA hosted their annual Black and White Party Thursday night at the Wayfare. Senior Program Director, Amy Sweet planned the celebration for December graduates. The event, held at Wayfare, was beautifully decorated and well catered. Neat Coffee, owned by Vanguard alum Ally Garvin (nee Hartz), and ice cream sandwich shop, Chunk and Chip.
The night was hosted by Ian Clardy and Sheridan Smith, seniors, with a performance by performing arts ministry teams, Entourage and Delivery Boys. They entertained the audience with a comical portrayal of the life of a Vanguard student from freshman year to graduation.
President Beals was the speaker for the night, sharing words of wisdom and encouragement. He shared his experiences saying to the seniors “I want you to do three things: dream, take risks, and fail.”
Director of Alumni Relations, Joel Gackle, spoke next sharing the importance of the role of being an alumnus. “We’re so glad you picked us, and we’re so glad we get to have you for the rest of your life,” Gackle said.
Ed Rybarczyk ended the night with communion and prayer. The night was a beautiful occasion of celebration. Students mingled until the end of the event, reconnecting and savoring their finals moments together.
