These 39 ladies and Coach Leslie Allen started their 2024 spring athletic season this past weekend at a Hope International University-hosted tournament. Eight other collegiate STUNT teams, including ACU, ASU, CBU, CUI, HIU, OUA, RCC, and UC Davis, participated in the competition with our Lions.
The Lions’ first match in the tournament was against ASU. For our Vanguard Lions, at least, this game was exciting. “My favorite game had to be our first game against Arizona State University,” sophomore Amanda Ellis said. Since this was our first game, we were all excited and energetic. I believe we did an amazing job, and I’m super proud of my team!”
The second game was against California Baptist University. When playing against this particular team, our Lady Lions had a goal in mind, and they succeeded in achieving it. “Going against CBU was the biggest challenge this weekend,” Amanda said. We weren’t expecting to win because they are among the top teams; our main goal was to get some points on the board.”
That’s exactly what they did after a lengthy, thrilling, and adrenaline-pumping game.
The Texas Tournament, featuring two games each day from March 1-2, is the next event for VU STUNT.
Since the season has only just begun, we are all eager to see what the remaining games will hold. Go Lions!
