There’s a new restaurant in the Vanguard community that has brought a fresh perspective on both Italian and Mexican foods: Burrissimo. One day owner John Parlet needed something fresh but fast while on the go, and came up with the concept of an ‘Italian burrito’. He developed a familiar station where you can fill their herb-infused tortillas with pasta, your choice of succulent meat, tangy sauce and freshly chopped veggies. All of their food is made on-site each and every day, and is as yummy as can be.
After opening the Costa Mesa location a year ago, Parlet expressed an interest in becoming a part of the Vanguard community. For on-campus clubs, staff, and any charity events we might have, Burrissimo wants to cater and help us with fundraising. It’s also a place where faith-based events are welcomed. As an affordable but classy joint, this can be a viable option for many organizations at Vanguard.
Not only is the food in the price range of the average broke college student, it is delicious. With every part of your meal being made fresh every day with some great flavors, you can enjoy an Italian burrito or pasta bowl knowing your food is tasty as well as nutritious.
For those with a sweet tooth, they have cinnamon-coated zeppoles (Italian doughnuts) that melt in your mouth with or without icing and raspberry sauce. There’s also authentic Italian soda to enjoy with your meal in pomegranate, blueberry, and wild berry flavors.
Whether you’re on the go, studying for exams, or trying to find a partner for your club’s fundraising event, Burrissimo on Harbor and Adams is the place to go.
