Playing the Game is simple: like a game of chess. Each piece can move, but only within its spaces available. You start out using the pawns, the lamest pieces ever, only able to move one square at a time. Once the pawns have cleared a way for another piece to come from behind, they move forward. This game continues until an equal amount of white and black pieces spread over a checkered board. You wait anxiously for the other person to think long and hard, until they decide to capture your most valuable piece. Panic sets in, as you have no idea what your next move will be. Do you chicken out and move a pawn one space forward, or take a daring move and potentially lose your King piece by making a wrong decision, ending the game. Let me tell you how this game is going to end… No one wins. Chess sucks, and I highly recommend something easier like Connect Four or Hungry Hungry Hippo. At least you can lose this games with your dignity still in tact.
Dating is one of those things that no one likes to talk about, because there is no right or wrong way to do it. I, however have no problem calling attention to these uncomfortable topics. Playing the game is usually required on some level to establish any form of dating. You meet someone through some social media site, or through friends and the game is initiated. But the level of game playing all depends on how much either party is willing to dish out. Typically, an even amount of game playing occurs at the very beginning with flirty texts and showoff moves that usually make you look overly confident. As the days, or dates go forward, another set of rules start to apply. If I pass go, do I collect my $200 and then make my way around the board again? Getting sent to jail Again? “But that was ONE time!”. That is entirely up to you. These game tactics depend on what you set for yourself, and your relationship. If you want the tease, full of games and misleading text messages that seem to form themselves, then you have found your match. But if you are not looking for the games, its easy to end them and quick. Establish a certain form of confidence when games are directed towards you. Calling out your opponent is my favorite part of the game, and usually shows the victim, I mean date, that you don’t intend to play their games. Yes, you will “Kill their vibe”, but ain’t no body got time for that. Playing the game actually requires more effort than actually dating someone and enjoying it. All those rules that said date things they establish in the beginning will be squashed, and they will either stay or go depending on how comfortable they are just being themselves. What a weird concept, huh? Anyway, remember that playing the game can be fun, but like any good game match, you have a 50 percent change of losing. What doesn’t kill you only makes you… dig a deeper hole to jump in. Happy hump day everyone. #foreversingle
