Connecting Students with Employers: Summer Job Fair

On Thursday February 8, 2024, Vanguard University’s Career Services held a Summer Job Fair. One of the goals of this event is to connect students to summer employers. Networking skills could be seen at the event, with the students speaking to job sites looking to hire people.

Students at the event said they enjoyed exploring the various jobs offered. Representatives displayed the employers’ goals and visions for their site. Most recruiters were camps, businesses, and professional organizations looking for people to join their teams.

Vanguard student, Hector Ramirez said, “Coming to this event has opened my mind to what I could be doing over the summer. Whether that be helping kids, going on a retreat, or focusing on ministry.”

Students are motivated and strive to create a community where they can help others. A summer job can allow them to expand their connections and let them see the mission of the job site that they are at.

Employers such as Elevo Learning, strive to create an environment that allows children to look forward to coming to school. While looking out for their well-being, they move students towards a path of enrichment. Elevo is looking for people who are passionate about helping empower students to prosper in their educational journeys.
