We are almost at the end of the Spring Semester at Vanguard University! What are your plans for the summer? Some students may go home, and others will be sticking around for some time. As a community, we strive not only to focus on our academics but also want to be able to have the time where we create some room for relaxation. As a result, we want to be able to create comfort and journey together through the span of summer vacation. Most students may not be returning as they will be graduating, so what can they do with friends or family before they depart for their summer break?
Summer break is a place of relaxation and is given to us in hopes of finding a moment where we can make time for ourselves and our families. Whether that be going home, the beach, the park, and so much more. Here are some places you can visit or experience in Orange County before you leave for summer break. Go and hang out with your friends, whether it will be your last together or the first before leaving.
The Discovery Cube in Orange County
It is an educational museum that walks you through the different aspects of science and much more. The Discovery Cube is mostly catered to young children, but, it is not limited to just children. The cost of a ticket is $19.95 for adults which gives you access to the science-based programs and exhibits. The engaging and interactive programs, exhibits, and events strive to make an impact on the community. This is a place that you can go to with both family and friends, which allows people to have a different perspective on the many things about science and educational aspects.
Victoria Beach
Want to cool off from the burning heat, or take a dip in the water, surrounded by magnificent nature around you? Give Victoria Beach a visit before you head home for the summer vacation. The big blue ocean has many aspects that it has to offer. Firstly, the beautiful Pirate Tower is only accessible through low tide. Just a fifteen-minute drive from Vanguard University, which is one of the notable places that visitors come to see. The walk there may be quite tiring, but the overall experience is all that matters. Take a picture of a tower that was built in 1926 as a staircase for the Governor of Los Angeles. Though it is not accessible to go inside, it is still a remarkable sight to see. Give Victoria Beach a visit!
Irvine Regional Park
It is an inexpensive experience where you can go and have a hike with others. With a $3 parking fee, you can go and enjoy quality time with friends. The park has various attractions that you can experience. The Zoo is one part of the park that can be quite entertaining for many people. The price to enter is $2 and it allows you to go and see the various animals that they have. You could feed goats with a quarter to get the food that they need so that you can have the chance to pet them.
Another thing that you can be a part of is taking a bike ride around the park that ranges from $20-$40 an hour. An opportunity to see the entire park, for as long as your legs and arms can last you! Have fun with family and friends on the bikes or you can ride a boat on the lake, that is very thrilling. The boat ride also ranges around the same price as the bike rentals. Take a ride on the lake and enjoy paddling away.
