Attention all Vanguard students: now is the time to register for the Ensure Justice conference coming up on March 3rd and 4th! The Global Center for Women and Justice (GCWJ) puts on an annual conference for attendees to learn how they can prevent human trafficking within their fields. The theme of this year’s conference is “Finding A Way Home.” On Friday the 3rd and Saturday the 4th, from 9 AM to 5 PM, it will examine how many of our children and youth struggle as they navigate challenging systems. Students of all majors are welcome to attend and learn what they can do in their future careers to participate in the fight against human trafficking. Attending Ensure Justice is also a great way to find internships with experts in their future career fields.
There are three ways that students can register for the Ensure Justice conference. They can enroll in the Ensure Justice conference course, WJST-212, via their student portal for one credit at no cost; this includes free lunch, plus an optional meal with one of the conference speakers. They can sign up to volunteer to help with set-up and registration for the event by stopping by the GCWJ office in Scott 226 or by emailing gcwj@vanguard.edu; free lunch will be provided this way as well. They can also choose to register online for the student rate of $40 (or $15 for attending virtually).
