Picture this, your first job interview is in a half an hour and you’re scrambling in your room trying to put together an outfit. You’re struggling because you understand just how important first impressions are and you want to put your best foot forward. Well, I definitely feel like we’ve all been there and done that. Therefore for that reason, I plan on sharing two of my favorite go to interview outfits.
This first option is for my ladies that don’t want to put a lot of time or effort into an outfit but still make it look like they tried. In that case, I would suggest wearing a matching set. Matching sets are the easiest route if you don’t want to put a lot of thought into an outfit. In The Fashion Folks trend alert they mention matching set and state, “They’re pretty much designed to be worn as they are, which is what makes them easy to style.” (The Fashion Folks). For my girls that want to make a statement, there are millions of different prints, colors, and designed matching sets to choose from. The best part about matching sets is that they’re timeless and can be styled in countless ways.
The second option is the traditional blazer and pants. A blazer can easily elevate an outfit and give it a more professional feel. Celebrity stylist Sonya Young tells Byrdie, an online fashion and beauty website, “An oversized blazer and a classic white blouse or T-shirt are simple and sophisticated classics that will make the transition back into the workplace easy”. If wearing a blazer feels a little too professional, you can always wear it down with a fun graphic tee or printed blouse under it.
I can assure you that if you want to be the best, you have to look the best. So ladies, have fun with it and remember that looking polished and professional is key.
