The UC Irvine Healthcare Mobile made its way to Vanguard University for the annual blood drive on Wednesday, January 27th at 11 p.m. Students, faculty, and staff generously donated about 33 units of blood, potentially saving the lives of 99 people.
One pint of blood has the ability to save three lives.
Some students were hesitant about donating due to the fear of needles, how they would feel after they donated, and whether or not they would make it to class on time, but were comforted by the friendly faces working on the bus. Vanguard exceeded its past donations by ten extra pints of blood this year.
