A new year brings in new faces to Vanguard University Athletics. An estimate of 80 new athletes have joined our campus pursuing their academic and athletic careers.
Men’s and women’s soccer are both welcoming a handful of newcomers as the men’s team brought on nine freshman and the women’s team brought in six. The men’s side will kick off their next game at home, on Wednesday, Sept. 23 and look to improve on their six win season, while the women will be playing their next game at home on Saturday, Sept. 26.
Men’s and Women’s cross-country welcomed in five new freshmen as they look to run all over the competition at the Aztec Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 3. Senior Josh Espinoza said the new additions “fit in so well it is like they have always been our teammates.”
“They bring a new freshness to the team” he says and “I’m really excited to see how they compete.”
Volleyball looks to keep their undefeated home streak going on Friday, Oct. 2, at 7:00 P.M. against La Sierra University. They have brought in four new freshmen that have helped them to a record of 9-4 on the season.
