Finding a job that fits one’s best interest in today’s society is one of the most difficult things to do considering that most jobs don’t accept employees who don’t have a certain type of education. For college students, finding any kind of job and being employed by someone is an accomplishment because jobs just don’t get handed out freely. Some employers target college students to fill the positions for their jobs because they find college students determined and hard-working, considering that they are committed to working while still having to worry about their studies.
Cool jobs come around seasonally and it’s important that one applies to these jobs early because job opportunities are snatched away once people are informed about them. Applying for a job one or two months prior to the season it is offered gives an advantage to one who strongly seeks working for a particular business. When employers see that someone has taken interest in their job months prior to when it is offered, they feel obligated to hire that person or at least interview them to find out more information.
During the spring, fashion is trending and there are many new releases on clothes and shoes prior to the start of summer. Thrift shops, shoe shops, and clothing stores are cool places to work at during the spring because of the opportunity of employee discounts and retail experience. Enduring this experience and receiving benefits from these jobs is almost like a bribe because depending on where you work, retail jobs aren’t the most difficult.
Once one learns how to operate efficiently at their job, it makes it easy to enjoy one’s work and get along with co-workers as well. When applying for a summer job, having retail experience on one’s resume informs employers that one knows how to work with money and is also capable of working well with others.
Cool jobs for the summer consist of anything that has to do with the beach, pools, or dealing with children. Working as a life guard, swimming instructor, or camp counselor are all cool jobs to have during the summer. Taking the time to work with youth and giving back to one’s community can mean a lot more to someone else than it may mean to you. Summer jobs should be flexible and somewhat easy because summer is a season of having fun. Other than doing what you love, there should be nothing more enjoyable than helping someone accomplish something that you have already accomplished or know how to do.
Along with summer, winter is vacation time for most people. Being a tour guide at an historical landmark or museum would be an awesome job to have because one can also learn from the past history and the experience itself. People who enjoy cold weather enjoy adventurous things, such as taking trips to mountains and discovering places that they’ve once heard about. Being employed by a museum or historical landmark who gives annual tours would be a cool job to have because of the information that can be learned and the experience that can be taken from it.
Halloween is in the fall and is a ritual tradition which some people have high interest in. Being a part of a haunted house or working at an amusement park for someone who hosts special events for occasions such as Halloween are usually fun and entertaining.
