In a blowout game the Los Angles Dodgers beat the San Francisco Giants 9-1 to clinch the National League West title, and a first round playoff berth spot. The hero of the game was Clayton Kersshaw who lead the team with tremendous pitching.
Kershaw pitched eight innings holding the San Francisco Giants to one run and only giving up eight hits throughout the entire game. In those eight innings he had 11 strikeouts and did not walk a single batter.
For Dodger fans the game was pretty stressful up until the sixth inning when, Yasiel Puig hit a lead off solo home run to put the Dodgers ahead 2-1.
That was only the beginning for the Dodgers who came to score 3 more runs in the sixth inning alone Courtesy of Juan Uribe. Juan Uribe drove in three of the nine runs of the night and Carl Crawford had a two-run double in the sixth inning. Even then the dodgers did not look back and scored 4 more runs in the eighth inning to put the game away.
Clinching the NL West title and a playoff berth were not the only exciting moments of the night. The night was especially one to remember for the hero of the game Clayton Kershaw who not only pitched a near perfect game but also tied a career high 21 wins with the win over the San Francisco Giants.
Kershaw also leads the National League with 239 strikeouts and has an ERA rating of 1.77.
