For One, For All

The time has come when you are replacing the Jonas Bothers for 2 Chainz on your iPhone, lying to your parents about your financial decisions, and making wreck-less decisions that end up in a higher car insurance premium.
But that’s ok, we all do it and pretty much all of us can get away with it, unless your mother is Meryl Streep, then you can’t get away with anything.

Anyway, take the time to be thankful that you are considered a college student and most of our parents are hundreds of miles away!

They say life begins with a bang. All of our stories are different: How we ended up/got sent to Vanguard, getting our first “big kid” job, oh and how that “new” dent appeared on your car. Raise your hands if you have lied to your parents about the “horrible drivers” at Vanguard, aka I was texting and driving and had to get my front bumper replaced TWICE this year. Sorry mom and dad.

Anyway, the beauty of our stories is that they are all different. They are all filled with laughs and smiles, but also the most difficult things we have had to deal with. But, it’s good to know we are not alone. We all have the same goal: to graduate. To make memories, to enjoy life, and embrace the unknown. Some of us are graduating in a few months, aka there are 179 days until graduation, but who’s counting??? *raises hand*. Rumor has it that the troops are nominating me for graduation speech?!? **hair flip**

Who’s to say Carmody will even allow me to graduate? Let’s not ask to find out.

To the fellow seniors out there, you are not alone. you never were. We are all on the same plane, just trying to connect the dots and pretend we “see” the weird zoo animal we just drew. And the construction isn’t helping in finding our identity. Removing the walls, moving the telephone poll, making any student terrified to check their mailbox. But maybe God wanted this; He wanted us to feel change; to accept change, to embrace the unknown.

I leave you with this; Listen often, forgive lots, ask questions, demand answers, oh and live your life to the fullest. We all have one life to live. We all were blessed enough to be here at the same time. Let’s embrace the uncertainty.
