New Year, New Vanguard

On January 9^th, 2023, Vanguard University was again filled with love and joy as the beginning of the Spring Semester kicks off. As many students moved back in and commuters began their preparation to return, the environment was fantastic. With their return, comes new aspiring goals for their well-being. The varying goals that each student has intertwined with one another show that we are striving for an exciting and prosperous school semester. For some students, it may be their last semester and for others, it is just the beginning. As we start the new year, all the faculty and students want to be able to accomplish the objectives that they are aiming for.

When speaking to some Vanguard students that have started their spring semester, there has been a certain connection and goal that most students have in mind. Some are striving for academic excellence, preparation for big exams, self-care, stronger friend bonds, and much more. Meeting new people could be quite intimidating, but as a community, there will be times when there will be greater courage to step forward.

Biology Major Senior, Jennifer Chan, says, “This semester I am excited to be done with school, and be able to graduate. I am also excited to spend more time with friends and be able to create more memories, as it is my last year here.”

Vanguard has many seniors graduating this semester and it is interesting to see what they want to be able to do in the future. As they prepare for big exams, life goals, and the next step in their educational journey, they will cherish the moments that they have created here at Vanguard University.

Biology Major and Chemistry Minor Junior, Emily Renteria, says, “I’m excited to learn more about Biology and hang out with my friends, whether that means studying or just going out to eat. My goal this is semester is to retain what I’m learning from my classes so that I can be prepared to take the DAT.”

Whether you are just starting or coming closer to your goal, your story matters. Vanguard University is a place that allows our students to prosper and succeed in the many life goals that they have. This spring semester will be the start of a new year and a new Vanguard.
