As college students, these past few weeks have been a rollercoaster! Coronavirus seems to have absolutely taken over the news and media. It looks like we can’t go a day without seeing some news article or advertisement that brings up the coronavirus. Fortunately, there are some tips and tricks to get us through this quarantine! Here are five quarantine to dos!
1. Travel
Take a virtual trip without having to leave the comfort of your bed. Virtually visit National Parks, museums, some of Europe’s most famous castles, and other theme parks around the world.
2. Netflix Party
Since we can’t physically watch movies with our friends, why not watch Netflix, together, remotely. Having a Netflix Party is easy and free! Chrome has made it possible for you and your friends to watch Netflix and chat at the same time. To host your Netflix party, you must install the Netflix Party extension (unfortunately, it only works on a Chrome browser but it’s still worth it!). Then, log into Netflix and select the film or show you want to watch with your friends. Next, create a Netflix Party by selecting the extension near your address bar (a red NP). Finally, share the party address with your friends and enjoy!
3. Sketch
When it comes to sketching, you don’t need a charcoal pencil and fancy paper. All you need is a simple pencil and a plain piece of paper. Rapid Fire Art is great for anyone interested in sketching. It’s totally free and gives you five levels to choose from with two to three lessons in each level.
4. Workout
Finding the momentum to work out can be difficult at times. But why not start now with the FitOn app? FitOn gives you a ton of different workouts you can try. And it’s totally free! You might think going to the gym is the only way to get a sufficient workout but working out from home can be just as beneficial.
5. Journal
Keeping a quarantine journal can really be whatever you want it to be. You can keep a physical journal and just write what’s going on or how your day was or what you want to do when this is all over. Or you can take short videos so that you can look back on them in the years to come and remember what this time was like.
I hope these links and quarantine to dos benefit you and your time at home.
