“We’ve got 999 happy haunts here, but there’s room for 1000” posted Sophomore Kate Sharpe on her Instagram. As the All-School Programmer in SGA, Sharpe is in charge of planning the biggest event of the fall season at Vanguard–the Harvest Party.
The “Masquerade” themed party takes place tonight from 9:30-11pm at the newly renovated Scott Courtyard. Hayrides will funnel people to the Haunted House in Newport. This is the first year Harvest Party will take place in Scott Courtyard, which many students are excited about because it’s already a fun place to spend time between classes. Another student favorite is the second year that Balport will host a Haunted House. Imagine your favorite RAs, and other Balport residents dressed up as the scariest ghouls, ghosts, clowns you can imagine.
The party is hosting costume-wearing contest on Instagram. Students are welcome to enter the contest using the hashtag “VUHarvest2K15” to win a prize. There will also be Waltz dancing and plenty of other fun games and activities.
“There will be a waltz instructor, haunted mansion-themed rides and caramel apples” Sharpe says “…why wouldn’t you attend this thrilling night?”
