Disneyland’s 60th Anniversary

On May 22, Disneyland will be transformed into a diamond celebration for their 60th anniversary. Disney’s teams have been hard at work to make this event as magical and spectacular as possible.

There has been speculation if Disneyland will have a 24-hour Disney day this year like they have in the past. It was recently announced that the 24-hour day will be from May 22-23 to kick off the 60th celebration. The day will start at 6 a.m. on May 22 and end at 6 a.m. May 23. It is recommended to get there early because the crowds are going to be crazy.

The park is introducing many new features just for the event. There will be a new firework show called Disneyland Forever. Disney Paint the Night Parade is also being introduced which will be a light parade. World of Color is getting a renovation and will be back on May 22.

The theme of the show is Celebrate! The Wonderful World of Walt Disney. The gorgeous water show will take you through Walt’s life and inspirations, located in California Adventure.

Not only will there be new shows, but many of the rides are under construction so they will be better than ever for the Diamond Celebration kickoff.

Mickey, Minnie, and friends are getting a whole new wardrobe for the event. For the 24-hour disney day, there will be a dance party event where all the characters will be wearing their pajamas. They suggest the guests wear their pajamas too! For the duration of the 60th Mickey, Minnie, and the rest of their friends can be spotted wearing dazzling diamond outfits around the park.

The marketing team recently announced that they will be releasing over 500 new items for purchase that are all 60th anniversary themed. Guests will be able to purchase dazzling hats, sparkling Minnie Mouse ears, t-shirts, sweatshirts, mugs, autograph books, stuffed animals, jewelry, and much more.

This event is not going to be something you will want to miss. These are only some of the things Disney has released about the event. The celebration starts on May 22nd but it has not been released how long the celebration will last. The 50th year anniversary events lasted for the duration of the year.

On July 17, 1955 Disneyland opened their doors for the first time and have been creating unforgettable memories for their guests ever since. The Disney team has gone above and beyond to make this 60th anniversary as memorable as possible. It is going to be an anniversary to remember!
