Yes, we all remember that fatal scene between LC and Heidi Montag, pre-surgery of course. They have their first “date” after the huge fight occurred, and you could feel the tension.
Airing on live TV, LC did what she had to do. The hardest thing in a friendship is understanding that at some point, you will have to let them go. Whether this be a move, or a new relationship, or a shady mistake one of you had partaken in. But it will happen to all of us, one time or another. But I don’t know what is worse, the official friend breakup, or the final meeting that occurs weeks or even months later. This is usually to put your mind at ease, and allow a new chapter to open while getting closure on the old. No matter how much you avoid it, it will happen. It needs to in order to move on, though no one said it was going to be easy. You can kick and scream and block numbers and social media, but at the end of the day, it’s still there. Like a half eaten Snickers bar, just tempting you. Half of you wants to throw it away and not collect the calories, and the other half wants you to jump in and remember how it tastes.
I’ve been through this way too many times, and I can pretty much predict it before it even happens. Though a part of me wants to remain stubborn, and not accept that people make mistakes, the other part of me wants my best friend back. Yes, the whole “life is too short!” quote gets tossed around. But I still don’t think I am ready. A good friend always told me, “you can’t drink poison in hope of it killing people who have wronged you.” At first, I was wondering which scene of Hocus Pocus she pulled it from, but she’s right.
As I have been avoiding this situation for 3 months now, it’s time to face the music. Wish me luck!
