Usually halloween is all spooks and ghouls, but for Disneyland it is something so much more. Every year Disney parks in the United States get into the halloween spirit, and in a much less spookier way then Universal Studios or Knotts Berry Farm. Disneyland has a reputation for people to rekindle with their inner child.
Disney has found a way to celebrate halloween without being so scary as well as appealing to a variety of ages. Mickey’s Halloween Party is an event that takes place on many days and is a perfect way to go trick or treating, especially as college students where trick or treating is no longer a norm.
Every year this Halloween party has days from the end of September to the day of Halloween and is around $63 a person on a Monday or Wednesday and on a Friday it is $70. The benefit to having a pass is that the price for this event is $56. And it starts on Friday Sept. 26. It is much different from going to the park on a regular day in so many ways. The earliest someone can enter the park if all they have is the Mickey’s Halloween Party Ticket is 3 hours prior to the start of the event.
Mainly because trick or treating is the main reason why people go. Buying tickets to attend this event is not included into the normal Disney day pass or annual pass. Most people would think “trick or treating at Disneyland? How is that possible? Do you go on a ride and they give you candy?” The answer to all those great questions is YES! And so much more, there are different shows and productions, the fireworks are also Halloween themed, along with the decorations in the park and on the attractions.
There is so much to do when trick or treating at Disneyland. They have recently added more shows to get people more into the halloween spirit. One of the most interesting ones is on the Rivers of America where a ferry takes a group of ghost acapella men. The group sings classic halloween songs as well as Disney songs. It can be very entertaining after a long night of walking around. With all the attractions they have it is hard to not get on them as well as enjoy the many stops to get candy.
A majority of the park is covered with the festivities of Halloween whether it is the lights or the signs on mainstreet. The only two attractions at the Disneyland park that completely change for this season are Haunted Mansion and Space Mountain. The Haunted Mansion has a themed after Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas. The decorations for this ride stay up till mid July since it is a christmas mixed with halloween. The spookiest attraction at Disneyland this time of the year is Space Mountain also known as Ghost Galaxy at this time. This thrill seeking adventure makes the Disneyland Park have something for everyone this holiday season.
