Every ramen-eating, iPhone-toting college student is looking for a job. Whether your earnings fund playful weekends during the semester or they’re saved up for an awesome summer, you still need a job to earn them. Vanguard students have a lot of options when it comes to employers, but if you still haven’t found what you’re looking for on campus, take a look at www.barefootstudent.com.
This site has opportunities for everyone- there are job listings, internships, and even gigs for musicians. Any employer can post their ‘Help Wanted sign’ on this site and there are a variety of things being offered. For example: do you like making your own jewelry? Someone is hiring. Do you want to tutor elementary students? There’s a school or club looking for you. Are you a writer? There’s a publishing house hiring right now. Sign up, contact the employer(s) of your choice, and they get back to you promptly. (Oh, and there is absolutely no cost for students to sign up and contact employers.)
The site is completely online, and keep in mind that any person that wants to meet or interview you has the potential to be dangerous. Barefootstudent.com also has some safety tips for the inexperienced student on their site: “Meet in a public place, have you cell phone, etc.”
Who doesn’t have parents on their back about getting a job? Go online to barefootstudent.com and put yourself out there – and get the monkey off your back.
