Romney’s Future Partly Cloudy and Unclear

After the long election battle that ended a few weeks ago, it’s back to life as usual for President Obama. However, now that Republican candidate Mitt Romney won’t be in the White House, his plans for the future are more unclear as he returns back home defeated.

According to an article from the Denver Post, Romney stated in a post-election interview that-“I don’t look at postelection to be a time of regrouping. Instead it’s a time of forward focus.”

For Romney, this time of forward focus for the foreseeable future will be a time spent with his wife, children, and 18 grandchildren. Although in regards to career the future is cloudy, his wife Ann also stated in an interview with The View on ABC during October that- “Absolutely he will not run again.” Whether he will retire completely from the political scene however, is still unclear.

Since he has had previous success in the private sector, specifically as President of Bain Capital and President of the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympic Organizing Committee, there is the chance that he might return to this sector, or perhaps become more actively involved with the Mormon church.

While the general consensus holds that Romney will still continue to pursue public office in some form, there is not much information given on the matter. Indeed, according to the Washington Post, “Romney’s senior advisers refused to speculate publicly about what might be next for their longtime boss.”

In the meantime, Romney has already begun to slowly fade from the public’s eye, back into the daily routine of house renovations and family gatherings that will occupy his time until the next opportunity-whatever that might be-arises.
