On Thursday October 26, 2023, Vanguard Universities’ College Corp Fellows held an event called, Helping Hands Fest. As a program, they strive to create an environment that impacts their community. For their first event, they focused on serving their local K-12 schools by writing letters of encouragement to students and teachers while putting together a pencil pouch with student supplies.

As students went through the different sections, they were able to help lovingly serve their community by bringing encouragement to students and creating a pouch that they would be able to use throughout their time at school. A multitude of Vanguard students were involved in service which has made an impact on many people. It is the little things that a group of people can do for a larger purpose and that is meaningful.
Sophomore College Corp Fellow Montana Leyva said, “This was our chance to serve and we ran with the fall vibes to incorporate a little bit of community for a lasting impact.” Participating in service to our community can make a difference to everyone and can show the power that love holds.
